- (n) A division of Ctenophora including those which have actually a lengthy, ribbonlike body. The Venus's-girdle is the most familiar example.
- A division of Ctenophora, containing those comb-jellies which are of slender ribbonlike type, as Venus's-girdles, or Cestidæ. See cut-under Cestum. The term is correlated with Saccatæ, Lobata, and Eurystomata.
