    • The tribal reputation for the functions, or perhaps the history of the paleontological growth of important activities, -- being a branch of phylogeny. See morphophyly.
    • The tribal history of purpose; that part of phylogeny which treats of function alone, regardless of type, the tribal record or phylogeny that second Haeckel calls morphophyly.
