    • an area of the top atmosphere, between about 15 and 30 kilometers (10 and 20 kilometers) in height, containing a relatively high focus of ozone that absorbs solar ultraviolet radiation in a wavelength range maybe not screened by other atmospheric elements. Also called ozonosphere.
