A theory or practice which will be another development, on even more rigorously systematic lines, associated with theory and practice of Impressionism, originated by George Seurat (1859-91), and carried on by Paul Signac (1863- -) as well as others. Its method is marked because of the laying of pure primary colors in moment dots upon a white ground, a range becoming from a variation within the proportionate number of the main colors used. This process can be generally Pointillism (stippling).
