leg bye definition

  • noun:
    • run scored by a batting side arising from the ball striking any area of the batsman's human anatomy without holding the bat. Leg byes tend to be taped as extras plus don't affect the batsman's individual score. A leg bye is only able to be scored if batsman was really wanting to play a shot, or truly attempted to avoid being struck by the baseball.
