plural (also as single). A temporary system by which nominations of members of Parliament were made, and that an applicant resolved his constituency. Because the passing of the Ballot Act of 1872 making use of hustings has been discontinued, but the term remains combined with reference to any system from where electioneering speeches are delivered.
