    • Baseball A base, generally comprising a tough rubber slab, at one of many corners of a diamond at which a batter stands when hitting and which a base runner must eventually touch in order to score.
    • an appartment, pentagonal, plastic object put on center of the batter's package, which is used as a basis for judging pitched attacks and balls, together with touching that by a runner advancing from or past third base scores a run.
