    • An antitakeover maneuver in which the target firm buys the raider's stock at a price above that available to other stockholders.
    • Profiting from an attempted hostile takeover by forcing the target business buying back once again the aggressive bidder's stocks at an inflated price.
    • The act, done by a publicly traded company, of paying a corporate raider to give up a takeover effort, by buying the shares of stock he has; in addition, the threat posed by corporate raiders to take over an organization unless their stocks are ordered because of the business at a price going for a big revenue.
    • (corporation) the rehearse of purchasing sufficient shares in a company to threaten a takeover and therefore forcing the owners buying those stocks back at reduced being stay-in business
