A genus of strobilosaurian acrodont lacertilians, associated with family members Agamidæ, locals of Australia; the frill-lizards. The C. kingi has a curious crenated membrane-like ruff or tippet round its throat, which lies in plaits upon your body if the animal is tranquil, but which will be raised when it's irritated or scared. Its head is big in proportion to its human body. A full-grown specimen is about 3 feet in length. See cut under frill-lizard.
