Any fruit of a plant of the botanical genus Capsicum, noted due to their spicy and burning taste because presence of capsaicin. Not totally all chili peppers tend to be especially spicy but all true chili peppers have some (in contrast to the bell pepper which can be perhaps not a genuine chili pepper and will not).
