capillary attraction definition

  • noun:
    • The power that results from greater adhesion of a liquid to an excellent area than inner cohesion for the liquid it self and therefore causes the fluid to be raised against a vertical area, as water is in on a clean glass pipe. It is the force that enables a porous material to take in a liquid.
