In the Roman Catholic Church: An antiphon, obtained from the Miserere, intoned by the celebrant and sung by the choir prior to the solemn size on Sundays, where the priest sprinkles with holy water the altar, clergy, and individuals. With a few adjustments, the same rite is practised in the Greek and Oriental churches.
