# absolute humidity definition

• noun:
• The amount of water vapour present in a unit amount of atmosphere, often expressed in kilograms per cubic meter.
• In a method of damp environment, the proportion associated with mass of water vapor show the quantity occupied because of the blend, that is, the thickness for the water vapor component. Absolute humidity is usually expressed in grms of water vapor per cubic meter or, in engineering practice, in grains per cubic foot. As this way of measuring atmospheric humidity is certainly not conservative pertaining to adiabatic development or compression, it is not commonly used by meteorologists. (also known as vapor focus and vapor density). See general moisture.
