    • A glass jar or container regularly build up electricity. It is coated with tin foil, within and without, nearly to its top, and it is surmounted by a brass knob which communicates aided by the internal finish, for the true purpose of charging it with electrical energy. It is so-named from having been invented in Leyden, Holland.
